Historic properties and monuments deteriorate at the place of display, whether at the museum or at the site. Having adapted to the stable conditions under the earth where they have been buried for centuries, even for millennia, these items have survived through time; however, when they are exposed to new conditions they start to deteriorate. For this condition, which puts the archaeologists and art historians in an awkward position alone, it is necessary to spend interdisciplinary efforts. For this purpose, the master’s program in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage is designed jointly by experts in the fields of Geology, Chemistry, Archaeology, Turkish Language and Literature, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Art History, and Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Therefore, it is aimed to train experts within the interdisciplinary range of our historic values, identification of conservation problems and solution proposals.
