History of the Department of Business Administration

1992-1993

The Department of Business Administration was established in 1992 and commenced instruction in 1993 with an initial cohort of 50 students.

1993-1994

In 1993, the Evening Education program was launched, welcoming its first 50 students in 1994.

2008

In 2008, the program with 30% English instruction was introduced, starting its educational activities with 100 students.

2009

In 2009, the Evening Education counterpart of the 30% English program was opened, also admitting 100 students.

2011

In 2011, the 30% English programs were discontinued. From that date onward, the department continued its educational activities exclusively through its Turkish-medium Regular and Evening Education programs.

2018-2019

The English-medium Business Administration program, which had operated under a separate English Business Administration Department since 2009, was integrated into the main Department of Business Administration. This merger followed the closure of the separate department by the decision of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Executive Board on December 26, 2018. Since the Spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, the English-medium program has continued its operations under the unified Department of Business Administration.

2024-2025

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, student admissions to the Evening Education program have been discontinued.

Current Status: Currently, the Department of Business Administration offers two regular education programs: one fully in Turkish and one entirely in English (100% English-medium).
