What is the Erasmus Program?

The Erasmus program is a European Union program that enables universities in different countries to cooperate with each other. With the Erasmus program, short-term student and instructor exchanges are made between foreign universities. The duration of these exchange programs, which are financially supported by the Erasmus program, varies between 3 and 12 months. The grants given by the Erasmus program vary according to the universities and the country of destination.

Aim of the Erasmus Program

The Erasmus program aims to improve the quality of universities and students in Europe and thus improve European society in the long term. Another aim of the Erasmus program is to give people the opportunity to get to know foreign cultures and thus foster intercultural integration. In terms of the job market, Erasmus programs provide individuals with all-round development, making them better prepared for the private sector and business life.

Erasmus Application

For Erasmus programs, there must first be an officially approved bilateral agreement between universities. There are some documents and exams required for Erasmus's application. First of all, GPA and language level are taken into consideration in applications. To be clear, GPA and foreign language skills are of equal importance in Erasmus application evaluation criteria.
