1. Objective and Agenda of the Meeting
The Pamukkale University Department of Economics Advisory Board Meeting was held to evaluate the current outlook of the Denizli Economy and to discuss proposals for strengthening university-industry collaboration.
2. Opening and Presentation
The meeting commenced with the opening remarks of the Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Reşat Ceylan. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Ceylan delivered a comprehensive presentation on the current state of the Denizli economy, covering:

Sectoral development dynamics of Denizli.

Demographic structure and labor force profile.

Strengths and weaknesses of the economy.

Emerging opportunities and potential threats for the region.
3. Views of the Advisory Board Members
Following the presentation, Advisory Board Member Haydar Köksal expressed his gratitude for the presentation and provided evaluations regarding the current state of the Denizli economy, with a particular focus on its export structure.
In the following session, Advisory Board members Murat Özdemir, Levent Altuntaş, Hıdır Kandemir, Cihat Pakyürek, Şencan Felek , and Ayşe Tuncer shared their views alongside department faculty members Prof. Dr. Reşat Ceylan, Prof. Dr. Mehmet İvrendi, Prof. Dr. Cemil Çiftçi, Asst. Prof. Dr. Halil Uçal, and Res. Asst. Dr. Cihat Karademir. They discussed sustainable development strategies for the region's economic structure.
4. Decisions on University-Industry Collaboration
To provide tangible contributions to the Denizli economy, the following matters were agreed upon regarding university-industry collaboration:

Planning events that bring students and business professionals together before the next Advisory Board meeting.

Conducting site visits to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with department members and Advisory Board members to evaluate existing problems firsthand.

Performing comprehensive preparation and analysis to ensure problems are communicated clearly and effectively during NGO visits.

Carrying out firm-specific academic studies by the university, including the introduction of graduate and doctoral courses and clarifying project-writing processes.

Initiating discussions regarding the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Rectorate to institutionalize university-industry collaboration.
