Department of Economics Orientation Program Held

Pamukkale University Economics Department successfully held its 2024-2025 academic year Orientation Program. During the orientation meeting, faculty members of the Economics Department and new students gathered to be informed about academic processes, departmental regulations, and the opportunities provided to the students.

Details of the Meeting

During the meeting, the Head of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Mehmet İvrendi, thoroughly explained the department’s mission, vision, and the educational opportunities offered to the students. Vice Dean and faculty member of the Economics Department, Prof. Dr. Abdulvahap Özcan, addressed how students can receive academic and social support throughout their university life and how they can enhance their academic performance. He emphasized that this orientation program is important for helping students adapt to university life faster and positively contributing to their academic success.

Presentations

The presentations were delivered by Research Assistant Recep Taşkın and Research Assistant Cemal Öztürk. Research Assistant Recep Taşkın provided students with comprehensive information about course selection, exam processes, and the advisory system, guiding them on navigating these processes effectively.

Research Assistant Cemal Öztürk, on the other hand, detailed how students can carry out their academic and administrative processes, access the latest announcements within the department, and make the most of the resources available. He also addressed how students can seek support from their academic advisors and how they can efficiently use this process, offering valuable insights on effectively managing the advisory process.

Final Session of the Program

In the final session of the program, students' questions were answered, providing them with information on the topics they were curious about, and an opportunity to meet with the faculty members of the department was offered. Additionally, it was reminded that students should regularly follow the announcements and notifications on the department's website.
