Previously "Geosciences Education in Lycus Valley" was held five times between 2017-2022 in national level and received financial support from TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye), the most important organization supporting the scientific studies in Türkiye. It is considered important for teachers from different countries to benefit from this important and unique nature laboratory region. For this purpose, it is aimed to carry out the 6th Geosciences Education in the Lycus Valley with international participants and for the participating teachers to develop joint initiatives in the future at the end of this field school. In addition, as it is known, the subjects included in most courses in the National Education curriculum of the countries (especially geography, general science, primary school) constitute the main areas of study of geosciences. For this reason, there is a close relationship between many disciplines and geosciences. While the teachers create environmental awareness for students, they teach how and what the Earth we live in is made up of, and the rocks and minerals that make up the Earth's crust. The geoscience knowledge of the majority of teachers is mostly based on theoretical courses in university education, and many of them have insufficient knowledge on geoscience background. Teachers' geosciences knowledge needs to be supported with practical field trips and workshops. Within the scope of this field school, the geosciences knowledge of teachers who have geosciences content in their curriculum will be developed through practical experiences in nature. Teachers will see various rocks and minerals visually and/or practically in the field and laboratory, and will obtain permanent materials through the collections to be prepared for their own schools with the mineral and rock samples they collect.
