PRIVATE SECURITY AND PROTECTION PROGRAM
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Private Security and Protection program started its education in the 2014-2015 academic year at Pamukkale University Acıpayam Vocational School in connection with the Property Protection and Security Department. Four expert lecturers in their fields work at our department. Those who graduate from this program, have an associate degree in Private Security and Protection, receive the title of “Private Security Officer”. Candidates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can apply to undergraduate programs in related fields provided that they receive sufficient grades from the vertical transfer exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center.
ADMISSION CONDITIONS
Admission and registration conditions; Candidates with a high school or equivalent school diploma are placed by the OSYM in accordance with the relevant legislation of the Higher Education Council. As the legal bases are given below, the student must submit a committee report and a criminal record document indicating that he does not have a physical and mental illness from a full-fledged hospital during registration.
10 of the "Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services" in order to register for this program. article d, e, f, paragraphs 18 of the "Regulation on the Implementation of the Law on Private Security Services No. 5188". it is necessary to have the conditions specified in the article.
- For registration, Article 10 of the Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services. in accordance with paragraph f of article 18 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Law on Private Security Services No. 5188 " Not to be disabled with physical and mental illness that may prevent the performance of the task" and "18 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Law on Private Security Services No. 5188. in order for a private security guard to be granted a work permit, as specified in the article "In order to cover the conditions listed in Article 10 of the Law, as well as the following issues, a health report with the phrase "becomes a private security guard" obtained from a hospital or an adequate medical institution is requested.
a) Psychiatry: A psychiatric illness or personality disorder (Psychopathy); not having alcohol and drug addiction.
b) Neurology: Not having any neurological condition that could prevent them from performing the private security service.
c) Eyes: Not to be blind or suffer from night blindness.
d) Otolaryngology (ENT): Not to have hearing loss that may prevent him from performing private security service.
- Article 10 of the "Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services" even if the deadlines specified in Article 53 of the Turkish Criminal Code dated 26/9/2004 and numbered 5237 in accordance with article d have passed or it has been decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict;
1) Not to be sentenced to a prison sentence of one year or more for a crime committed intentionally.
2) Not to be convicted of crimes against State security, Constitutional order and the functioning of this order, private life and the secret area of life and sexual immunity, as well as drug or stimulant substance crimes, embezzlement, apostasy, bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, abuse of trust, fraudulent bankruptcy, mixing mischief in a tender, mixing mischief in the performance of an act, laundering assets values arising from a crime, smuggling and prostitution, even if he has been pardoned.
3) There is no ongoing investigation or prosecution against him for crimes against the constitutional order and the functioning of this order, private life and the secret area of life, sexual immunity, as well as drug or stimulant substance crimes.
VERTICAL TRANSITION POSSIBILITIES
If our students who graduate from the program are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam opened by OSYM, they have the right to make a vertical transfer to the emergency relief and disaster management department and the social work department of our universities, which provide undergraduate education, and to become a bachelor's degree graduate.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the Private Security and Protection program have a wide range of employment opportunities in their field. From this point of view, business centers, accommodation facilities, health institutions, educational and educational institutions, museums, ceremonial places, public housing areas, airports and seaports and sea ports, subways, railway stations and terminals, industrial and commercial enterprises, dams, power plants, refineries, power transmission lines, radiolink stations, video and audio transmitting stations, fuel oil transportation, storage, loading facilities, river, lake and sea coasts, forest areas, all kinds of sports competitions, It is primarily concentrated in open and closed venues where stage shows and meetings are held.
Graduates can establish and operate private security companies in their own name and account, as well as work for various private security companies and serve as trainers. They can take part in the infrastructure or management of security services of institutions and organizations in the public and private sectors. Our graduates can be employed in the aforementioned fields of work throughout Turkey. At the same time, the door of these institutions is open to program graduates due to the fact that associate degree graduates are required in the “security officer staff” preferences in the recruitment of officers made with KPSS-B. Students who graduate from this program can work in public or private organizations in the region, or they can run their own businesses.
There are many companies throughout Turkey that work privately and provide short-term training. However, in the future, private security officers who have undergone high-quality training may be able to become a security supervisor and manager at the workplace in accordance with the law. It is obvious that organizations that provide high-level education, such as universities, can also do this.
Graduates of Our Program Will Have the Following Qualifications:
1. Gains fundamental, current, and applied knowledge in the field of private security.
2. Gains knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness, and quality processes.
3. It follows the current developments and practices related to the private security profession and uses them effectively.
4. Information technologies related to the private security profession (software, programs, animation, etc.) uses it effectively.
5. Have the ability to independently evaluate problems and issues related to the private security profession with an analytical and critical approach and offer solutions.
6. At the level of knowledge and skills, they can effectively present their ideas through written and verbal communication and express them clearly.
7. Knows and understands the professional legal regulations in the field of private security.
8. They will acquire the ability to communicate effectively in the workplace.
9. Takes responsibility as a team member to solve complex, unforeseen problems encountered in applications related to the field.
10. Possesses awareness regarding career management and lifelong learning.
11. It has social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, applying and announcing the results of data related to its field.
12. Will possess foreign language knowledge and skills related to private security.
