4th BAKEA International Western Cultural and Literary Studies Symposium

Denizli is situated in a hub of transportation networks and getting to Denizli is as easy as falling off a log. We have tried to give a comprehensive road map and suggestions eligible for both comfort-seeking and backpacking guests. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to email us.

There is a regional airport in Denizli and you can have a domestic flight directly from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen or Ataturk Airport. You can check the websites of airline companies here for the schedules.

Turkish Airlines

Pegasus Airlines

There will be a free shuttle only one day before the symposium and we will not be able to support any kind of transportation later on. You can rent a car at the airport, take the airport shuttle (HAVAS) or the cab to the city center.

There are also a couple of available international airports surrounding Denizli at an equal distance. If you arrive at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, you can take the train –there is a train stop at the airport- which takes 4 hours approximately or you can get the shuttle to the coach station and take the coach to Denizli which takes three and half an hour. If arrive at Bodrum or Antalya Airport, you should go to the coach station first and then take the coach to Denizli both of which take three hours approximately.

If you seek our personal advice, we would suggest you to land on Antalya or İzmir Airport if you can find a direct flight and then take the train or the coach to Denizli. If you try the train from Izmir, you may have a chance to stop over at Ephesus for a couple of hours and take the next train to Denizli. Trains and coaches are quite safe and comfortable in Turkey, trains are a bit cheaper and slower and coaches offer free beverages on the way.

You can check the timetable for the trains here and for the coaches here and here.
