Tourist Guiding

The quality of service in the tourism sector is directly related to the level of vocational education of those working in the industry. Through the programs organized by the European Union, efforts are being made to implement and expand vocational education in the tourism sector. During the process of accession to the European Union, tourist guiding gains even more importance in the context of the free movement of services. Tourist guides are ambassadors promoting the country. As the only representatives in direct contact with foreign guests, they hold strategic importance. In the eyes of tourists, guides represent our country and culture; they are seen as wise individuals, role models, and sometimes even as ambassadors.

In this context, our Tourist Guiding program aims to train young professionals who speak at least one foreign language fluently, have a deep understanding of the traditions and customs of their guests, are well-acquainted with the destinations they specialize in, are knowledgeable about how to present these destinations to foreign visitors, and who adopt their profession as a way of life.

Program Objective:
The aim of the Tourist Guiding program is to train tourist guides who will provide information to domestic and foreign tourists about our country’s natural and cultural assets. The program seeks to educate qualified tourist guides who are fluent in a foreign language, have a comprehensive knowledge of Turkey’s history, culture, and geography, possess strong interpersonal skills, and can think analytically.

The duration of the program is two years, at the end of which an associate degree diploma is awarded.
