Pamukkale University, Bekilli Vocational School, Marketing and Advertising Department, Public Relations and Promotion program, began admitting students in the 2012–2013 academic year, offering education at the associate degree level. The program is a two-year associate degree program comprising a total of 120 ECTS credits. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, the program has adopted a 3+1 education system (3 semesters of courses, 1 semester of workplace vocational practice). The curriculum includes theoretical and practical courses designed in line with the needs and expectations of the business world. The language of instruction is Turkish, and the program has a total quota of 40 students. The program aims to train competent professionals who can effectively plan, implement, and manage communication, public relations, promotion, and advertising activities, possessing the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students gain the knowledge and skills to design and implement communication strategies, create and manage organizational image, and establish effective communication between organizations and their target audiences. Graduates can be employed as qualified mid-level professionals contributing to the communication processes of organizations in various fields, including corporate communication or public relations units of public and private sector institutions, public relations agencies, media organizations, and advertising companies.

Objective
The program aims to train qualified individuals who have a strong sense of social responsibility, adhere to professional ethics, and are able to effectively use public relations tools and methods as well as produce content.

Admission Requirements
Admission to the Public Relations and Promotion program is based on students achieving a sufficient score in the TYT section of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), conducted annually by ÖSYM, and in accordance with the requirements specified in the Guide to Higher Education Programs and Quotas. Additionally, in cases of Inter-Institutional or Centralized Lateral Transfer applications, student admission is determined based on whether the application complies with the relevant provisions and procedures of the applicable regulations.

Graduation Requirements
In order for a student to graduate from this program, they must complete all departmental courses and pass them, and their graduation GPA must be equal to or higher than the minimum GPA specified in the applicable regulations of Pamukkale University. In the Spring semester, students are ranked based on their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The top three students in each academic program graduate with the titles of First in Program, Second in Program, and Third in Program, respectively. These titles are officially recorded on the student's academic transcript, and certificates are issued to the students accordingly. Students with a CGPA between 3.50 and 3.74 graduate with the distinction of Honors, while those with a CGPA of 3.75 or above graduate with the distinction of High Honors. These distinctions are also indicated on the student’s academic transcript, and honor certificates are awarded to the eligible students.

Graduates have job opportunities in public relations, advertising, corporate communications and marketing departments of many organizations operating in various areas. Also they can work at media, advertising and public relations agencies.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students wishing to transfer laterally from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the “Regulation on Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions” shall apply. The exemption exam for common compulsory foreign language courses is held at the beginning of the fall semester on the date specified in the academic calendar. No make-up exam is provided for this exemption exam. Students enrolled in faculties/vocational schools/schools that do not offer a preparatory program are eligible to take the common compulsory foreign language exemption exam. Students intending to take the exemption exam must apply to the relevant unit within the period specified in the academic calendar. Additionally, students who are registering for departments with a foreign language preparatory program for the first time must take a placement and proficiency exam before the start of the academic year. Based on the score obtained in this exam, students are placed in one of the beginning, lower-intermediate, or intermediate groups, or students who meet the proficiency criteria are exempted from preparatory education. The score ranges for these groups are determined by the Directorate of the School. Exam results are announced in relevant locations and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Students who register for departments/programs requiring compulsory preparatory education but do not take the placement and proficiency exam will start their education at the beginner level.

Access to Further Studies
The progression of associate degree students to higher-level programs in Turkey is subject to regulations set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Transfers are carried out in accordance with the “Regulation on Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions,” which governs the transfer of associate degree students to undergraduate programs. Graduates of the program can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and, if they meet the required criteria, transfer to undergraduate programs such as Visual Communication Design, Public Relations and Advertising, Public Relations and Promotion, Communication Design and Management, Communication and Design, and Advertising.
