HISTORY: FOUNDATION–DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

The Faculty of Architecture and Design was established by the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions published in the Official Gazette dated May 29, 2007, and numbered 26536 , the Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, the Decree Law on the Staff of Higher Education Institutions, and the Law on General Staff and Procedures, based on Article 2 of the Law on Amendments to the Tables Attached to the Decree, and the proposal of the Pamukkale University Senate dated January 15, 2009 and numbered 01/1, was approved by the Higher Education Executive Board at its meeting dated February 4, 2009, in accordance with Article 7, Paragraph (d), Subparagraph 2 of Law No. 2880, amending Law No. 2547.

Our faculty consists of five (5) departments: Interior Architecture, Industrial Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning. In the 2014–2015 academic year, the Department of Architecture and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning admitted students, and in the 2018–2019 academic year, the Department of Landscape Architecture admitted students, and active education and training continues with a total of three (3) undergraduate programs. The Urban and Regional Planning Department, Architecture Department, and Landscape Architecture Department offer active graduate education programs and admit graduate students in September and January within the Institute of Science.

In June 2022, with the decision of the YÖK General Assembly, the Textile and Fashion Design Department was established within our faculty, increasing the number of departments in our faculty to six (6).
