Department of Textile, Clothing, Shoe and Leather Technology
GENERAL INFORMATION
Department of Textile, Clothing, Shoe and Leather Technology was started its education in
the academic year of 1987-1988 with its first students. In the academic year of 1993-1993,
first evening education was started. Until 2014-2015 department continued its education only
with Textile Technology Programme but starting from Fall Semester of 2014-2015 Prodution
of Clothing Technology Programme has started its education. Department also includes
Leather Technology, but it has not been started its education yet.
In the first year of Textile Technology, theoretical courses were given in the field of fiber,
yarn, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, clothing and quality control and laboratory studies
were taken. In the second year, students were supposed to choose one of the sub-programme
including Textile Weaving and Textile Finishing, considering their interest and former high
school. Most Particularly in the second year, detailed technical courses were given about
future working areas.
