Field Trip-Kızıldere

Zorlu Enerji, one of the largest independent power producers in Turkey started to build and operate renewable energy assets after acquired the operational rights of the Kızıldere Geothermal Power Plant (Kızıldere-I) and the geothermal field on September 2008. In addition to Turkey's first geothermal power plant Kızıldere-I (15 MWe), Kızıldere-II (80 MWe) was implemented in 2013 with a total investment of $250 million. Kızıldere-III (165 MWe) which is Turkey's largest geothermal power plant and one of the world’s leading integrated geothermal power plants was completed in 2018 with total investment of $500 million. As a sustainable power plant, Kızıldere Geothermal Power Plant invests in the environment and the social structure of the area as well as the latest technology. Alaşehir Geothermal Power Plant, completed on the highest security measures with zero accident, operates with its 45 MWe total installed capacity and produces 315 million kWh per year. 30 month long team work night and day and implementation of additional development with 650 labor of the plant from the drilling of the project to construction and production, each phase capacity work continues.
