The Department of Geography was established in 1992 within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Pamukkale University. Due to the lack of academic staff allocation, it remained inactive for a considerable period. In 2014, with the addition of three faculty members, it began its educational program in the fall semester with a student quota of 40. In subsequent years, the student quota was set at 60 by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and reduced to 50 students in 2025.
Currently, the Department of Geography has 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors, and 1 Research Assistant with a PhD.
