**1. Purpose and Scope**

**Article 1 —** A center has been established under the Rectorate of Pamukkale University, pursuant to Article 7/d-2 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, under the designation "Pamukkale University Research and Application Center for Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution."

**Article 2 —** The purpose of the Center is to support education and instruction in the following areas, with the aim of raising Turkish youth as free-thinking and free-conscientious individuals who are aware of national, humanitarian, spiritual, and cultural values; who recognize their duties and responsibilities toward the state as citizens of the Republic of Türkiye founded by the great Atatürk; who believe in the indivisible unity of the Turkish State with its land and nation and take rightful pride therein; who sincerely understand and wholeheartedly embrace the principles of Atatürk; and who, drawing strength from these convictions, strive to contribute more effectively to their homeland:

a) The History of the Turkish Revolution,

b) Atatürk's Principles, their significance and objectives,

c) The services rendered by the Turkish Nation to humanity throughout history,

d) The place of Atatürk within the history of the twentieth century.

**2. History**

The Research and Application Center for Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution, which commenced its activities in 2009, served as the coordination center for the "Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution" courses offered at Pamukkale University until the end of 2016. Numerous conferences and panel discussions have been organized at Pamukkale University under the auspices of the Center. The internationally peer-reviewed *Belgi* Journal, which continues to be published to date, maintains its scholarly contribution to the recent history of Türkiye through academic research articles.

Following the founding director Prof. Dr. Önder Göçgün, Prof. Dr. Mithat Aydın served as director. Since 2017, Prof. Dr. Ercan Haytoğlu has been serving in the capacity of director.
