Our department has been conducting excavations authorized by the Council of Ministers throughout the summer. The Sillyon excavation successfully concluded its 2020 season, while ongoing excavations at Laodikeia, Tripolis, and Stratonikeia-Lagina continue year-round.
In 2020, our department showcased ancient excavations to local and international guests and students, providing detailed information about the ongoing research.
The practical application of theoretical knowledge is a valuable opportunity for students in our department, thanks to the excavations conducted.
Upon completing their undergraduate program at the Institute of Archaeology, the first in our country, students can pursue postgraduate studies (Master's + Doctorate).
The inaugural issue of Lycus magazine, the official periodical of the Institute of Archaeology, was published in 2020, marking the beginning of its publication journey.
