NYMPHAEUM (ORPHEUS FOUNTAIN)
The Orpheus Fountain stands at the intersection of the Colonnaded Street and the Hierapolis Street. Measuring 5.60x3.00 m, the fountain n was originally built in the Roman period but then altered in the Early Byzantine period. Partially excavated in the course of the second phase of work at Tripolis, the fountain was entirely unearthed in 2012. The parapets of the fountain and the columns nearby were restored and put up as per anastylosis. (Fig. 1) (Fig. 2)
