BIOGRAPHY
Gürer Gülsevin (PhD in Old Anatolian Turkish, İnönü University) is a Professor in the Institute of Turkish World Studies, at Ege University, Türkiye, where he teaches courses in ancient and current written Turkish languages and dialects, as well as their analysis and interpretation. His research focuses on Old Anatolian Turkish and Turkish dialects. His publications include the books Eski Anadolu Türkçesinde Ekler (Suffixes in Old Anatolian Turkish) (1997), Uşak İli Ağızları (Dialects of Uşak Province) (2002), Yaşayan ve Tarihi Türkiye Türkçesi Ağızları (Living and Historical Dialects of Turkish) (2010), chapters in edited volumes, and articles in journals including BİLİG, Türk Dili Araştırmaları Yıllığı Belleten, Dil Araştırmaları, Türk Dünyası İncelemeleri, Turkish Studies, Türk Dünyası Dil ve Edebiyat Dergisi, Turkish Studies-International Periodical for the Languages, Literature and History of Turkish or Turkic, and The Journal of Academic Social Science Studies. He serves as an editor for a number of international publications. He is still a member of the Turkish Culture Research Institute and the advisory board of the Yunus Emre Foundation. Gülsevin has been serving as the President of the Turkish Language Association since 2018.
