    This department aims to train students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as qualified assistants in field photography and television or film industry. Various studio and recording techniques, camera operating skills, video editing, illumination design, scenario and TV production, correspondence, and presentation are taught with theoretical and practical perspectives. Graduates, who also complete the one-year compulsory English Language Preparation Programme, can find employment in media and communication, production organisations in the public or private sector.

    Department is not opened because of academic staff and studio equipment lackness, after completing all requirements of academic staff and studio equipment department will begin to education.

    QUALIFICATION AWARDED

     

    The students are awarded with Associate Degree in Photography and Camera Operation Programme after completing all requirements of curriculum programme successfully and fulfilling all other requirements of graduation. The graduate students are titled as a  "Camera Operator and Photographer”.

     

    SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    The students' admission to Higher Education is based on a nation-wide Student Selection Examination (ÖSS). The examination is held once in a year and administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The candidates are registered to Higher Education Institutions according to their examination scores and their high school grade point averages.

     

    RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

    The students of our university have the right to request the recognition of prior learning from their previous universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of registration year.

     

    HISTORY

    Audio-visual Techniques and Media Producing Department and Photography and Camera Operation Programme was founded in 2011-2012 Academic Year.   There is no any student at the moment, after completing all requirements  of academic staff and studio equipment department will begin to education.

     

     

    EXAM REQULATION & ASSESMENT & GRADING

    Each student must attend the courses, applied studies, laboratories, projects, seminars, workshops, graduation projects and other studies of the semester. Students who have not attended at least 70 % of theoretical courses and 80% of applied and laboratory studies are not allowed to take the final exam of those courses. Examinations are conducted generally in written form. However, the instructor of the course may decide to conduct the exam in the oral form. Taking into consideration the type of the course, the instructor can give an extra task such as research projects or laboratories. Examinations are arranged and conducted by the instructors teaching the courses. The students should submit the relevant excuse document and application letter in the first day of finishing final examination in order to be entitled to take an excuse exam.

     

    GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

    To succeed in the programme, the students should complete successfully all courses (optional and compulsory) and average grade must be 2.0 out of 4.

     

    OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES OF GRADUATES

    In the light of their qualifications, the graduates may be employed in media sectors and other relevant institutions.

     

    ACCESS TO FURTHER STUDIES

    If the graduated students succeed in Vertical Crossing Exam (DGS conducted by ÖSYM), they have the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in.

    MODE OF STUDY

    Photography and Camera Operation Program Objective The objective of Program in Photography and Camera Operation is to prepare students as professionals in photography and camera operation. Students in the program take advantage of textbooks developed by our academic staff and self-study principles as well as photography and production studios.
    Graduation Requirements In order to graduate from the program, a student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses, get minimum 120 ECTS credits in total, achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. Students that meet the graduation requirements are granted “Associate Degree in Photography and Camera Operation” from the Denizli Vocational School of Technical Sciences
    Transfer Opportunities Graduates of the program are required to take the Vertical Transfer Examination from Associate to Undergraduate Degree Programs (DGS) held by the Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in order to transfer to an on-campus or an undergraduate program. Information on application requirements, programs, quotas, admission procedures, exam, assessment and placement is announced every year in the DGS guide.   Employment Opportunities Graduates of the Program in Photography and Camera Operation are employed in public and private media corporations, movie studios, video companies, and advertising companies. They can also become a member of associations related to photography, hold exhibitions and attend workshops, and participate in international photography exhibitions and photography competitions.
