The Department was founded in 1993 as the Department of Biostatistics under the Basic Medical Sciences division. 

Education

 The Department carries out the undergraduate biostatistics courses primarily in the Faculty of Medicine and also in other healthcare-related Faculties/Graduate Schools.In addition to the undergraduate education in the Faculty of Medicine, the students are also provided with postgraduate courses within the Institute of Medical Sciences at Pamukkale University.

The research associate physicians of the Faculty of Medicine are provided with the Scientific Research Methods and Biostatistics course.

Consultancy Services 

 In addition to educational activities, consultancy services, including the process from scientific research planning to biostatistical analysis, are offered to both the Faculty of Medicine and other healthcare-related faculties/graduate schools.

The Department was founded in 1993 as the Department of Biostatistics under the Basic Medical Sciences division. The Department carries out the undergraduate biostatistics courses primarily in the Faculty of Medicine and also in other healthcare-related Faculties/Graduate Schools. Additionally, postgraduate courses are provided in the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Medical Sciences. 

Objectives:

The objective of the program is to train scientists in Biostatistics. 

Admission Requirements:

Graduation grade; ALES; ÜDS/KPDS 

Graduation Requirements:

Completing at least 24-credit courses in the program, giving a seminar, successfully preparing and defending postgraduate thesis. 

Employment Opportunities:

Graduates generally continue to the doctoral program. If otherwise, graduates may work as a faculty member in a higher education institution or they may work in several healthcare institutions.

Academic Degree Earned:

The graduates who have completed the program by fulfilling all requirements are entitled to a "Master's Degree in Biostatistics."

Postgraduate Programs

Recognition of Previous Education:

The students who wish to obtain an undergraduate transfer from the Turkish higher education institutions to Pamukkale University are subject to the "Regulation on Transfer, Double Major, Minor, and Interacademic Credit Transfer between Associate and Bachelor Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions". The exemption exam for the common compulsory foreign languages is conducted on the date specified in the academic calendar at the beginning of the fall semester. No excuse exam right is granted for this examination. Faculty/vocational school/graduate school students with no preparatory program take the proficiency exam for the common compulsory foreign languages. The students who will take the proficiency exam apply to the respective entity within the time specified in the academic calendar. Furthermore, the students who enroll for the first time in the divisions with a foreign language preparatory program take the placement and proficiency exam prior to the start of the academic year. Students are placed in one of the beginner, intermediate-low, or mid-level groups based on their score in this exam or the students with a proficiency score become exempt from the preparatory training. The score range for these groups is determined by the Directorate of the Graduate School. The exam results are announced in the respective places and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Among the students enrolled in the divisions/programs with compulsory preparatory training, those who have not taken the placement and proficiency exam begin their education from the beginner's level.

Transfer to Upper Degree Programs:

Candidates who have successfully completed the postgraduate education can study in doctorate programs provided that they obtain a satisfactory score from ALES exam and they have a sufficient level of English knowledge.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

1          Guide the scientific planning of clinical and field researches

2          Understand the place and importance of biostatistics in the scientific studies

3          Create solutions for the uncertainty management (uncertainty resources, effects, and removal methods) in health sciences and clinical trials

4          Ability of data and data management (domestic and international healthcare data, data sources, data reliability and content, data communication)
